Re: Battlefield Bad Company Screenshots

Taken just a few minutes ago, I can't believe the servers are still live.

Re: CentOS End Of Life

What are the server specs? I assume x86 of some sort. But these days who knows, there's a lot of choice out there now. If it's x86, get debian up and running on another machine, with the sites and settings... then either dd the files to the server or create an img/iso file, then IN THEORY at least, ...

So celcius to fahrenheit conversion is C * 9 / 5 + 32

Re: NAS systems vs a home made NAS

Why am I so damned excited about this? A raspberry Pi 4 OpenWRT router, with compute module too! https://www.seeedstudio.com/Dual-GbE-Carrier-Board-with-4GB-RAM-32GB-eMMC-RPi-CM-4-p-4898.html Maybe it's because VirginMedia are about to upgrade me to 1gigabit internet? https://broadbandinternetuk.com...

Re: NAS systems vs a home made NAS

I may be able to wiggle it down to £10 but will have to have a play around to space. Am not too fussed about data transfer unless its terabytes a day It'd be a nice thing to have, but for the sake of having a subsonic server in the cloud, it's a lot of fuss. I won't bother m8e, thanks for thinking ...

Re: NAS systems vs a home made NAS

Wow, that's a bit expensive, but it's a big ask too. A fair amount of space and traffic is required. Probably in the region of 200GB of space and probably2-3GB per day transferred.
Sorry m8e, I can't afford that.

This is literally just a throw it together and see how it sounds session. This is not a DJ set, this is a DJ messing about and experimenting.

Re: NAS systems vs a home made NAS

Can you give me any info on what? As it could be more effective to isolate a small cpu and ram but allocate more HHD space. Is it home streaming/ video music an stuff? I.e having your music bank in the cloud an streaming on the go Yeah it's just SubSonic. It'd be nice to have a subsonic "cloud...

Re: NAS systems vs a home made NAS

I'm curious Dave, how much do you charge for hosting?
I'd be interested in a host and around 200GB of space. HDD or SSD speed doesn't matter.

It might generate a lot of traffic though, and only to me.

Re: The Guardian: BT and Netflix talking about net neutrality

But for me it's the quote, “Every terabyte of data consumed over and above current levels costs about £50m,” says Marc Allera Erm. 1TB cost £50m. Not a fucking chance. I'd personally bankrupt virgin media every month, and that's just little old me. I thought data was nearly free of charge once the i...
